Bonjour!  I’m so glad you are in my class this year!  Let me tell you a little bit about myself. 

My name is Mrs. Jeffrey, and I am originally from Troy, TN.  I attended UT-Martin for my undergraduate degree.  After college, I became a nanny for a year and lived in New Jersey.  I was the primary caregiver for eleven-year-old twin girls.  After my year was up, I came back to Tennessee and began teaching 7th grade reading in Franklin County.  While living there, I took graduate classes from Tennessee State University and obtained my master’s degree.  Next stop: Memphis!  I moved here in 2000 and started teaching 8th grade language arts at Southwind Middle School.  In 2003 I transferred to Shadowlawn, and I really like it here.  I taught social studies one year, but English and reading are really my niche.  I love to read, and I have made outside reading a requirement for my classes.  Shopping, trying new recipes, traveling, and spending time with my family are my other hobbies.
